U.S. citizens or permanent residents who were trained internationally are welcome to apply to the nursing programs at Iowa State University. All admissions criteria and pre-requisites must be met to be considered for admission. Applicants to the RN-to-BSN program and MSN program, must hold an RN license in the State of Iowa or a compact state.

Information about obtaining an RN license in Iowa for Foreign Educated Nurses, is provided by the Iowa Board of Nursing.

The nursing programs at Iowa State University are not currently approved for students holding F-1 or J-1 visas. International students who hold other statuses are encouraged to contact International Students and Scholars at Iowa State University (ISSO) to confirm eligibility.
